ABOUT
Nahanni is an interdisciplinary designer and artist from a family of treeplanters, sailors, musicians and makers.
Inspired by family history, she curated a book of her father’s photography: Nahanni Reforestation, shot in the 1970's and 80's while running a tree planting crew of the same name during her childhood.
In later childhood she was introduced to sewing and knitting by her grandmother and apprenticed as a furniture maker and designer in her late teens and early 20's with her uncle, specializing in reclaimed wood and metal. She ran her workshop in Canada before switching to clothing design after moving to the US.
Her clothing is a mix of basic essentials, small batch and one of a kind pieces, made locally in the Columbia River Gorge.
Her studio is located on her farm, home to 4 rescued miniature donkeys, Pyrenees dogs and many birds.
